China Mobile's Guizhou branch recently realized full 5G network coverage at 25 stations along Guiyang metro line 1 in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The maximum download rate reaches 813 megabits per second, and the uploading speed hits 95.8 Mbps on the metro, which means it takes less than two seconds to download an app and about 10 seconds to download a 1-gigabyte movie.
Meanwhile, on Guiyang's intelligent buses, passengers can pay the fare using a bus pass, mobile payments, cash or 5G face recognition.
According to China Mobile's Guizhou branch, the cameras on intelligent buses can capture human faces, extract biometrical features, compare facial information with databases and charge the fare from a passenger's bank card relying on the 5G network.
