Yunyan releases 10 measures to reboot technology industry

Yunyan district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently issued a notice setting forth 10 measures to boost the leading role of scientific and technological innovation in its economic and social development and to develop high-quality economy, according to local officials.

The notice emphasizes the construction of a scientific and technological development platform, they said. 

Newly recognized national and provincial-level engineering and technology research centers and key laboratories will each be given subsidies of one million yuan ($141,300) and 500,000 yuan. 

For innovative entrepreneurship platforms, the district government will subsidize newly identified science and technology business incubators at the national, provincial and municipal level to the tune of 1 million yuan, 500,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan, respectively.

The notice also encourages the development of high-tech enterprises. 

Enterprises that have been recognized as a national-level high-tech enterprise for the first time will get a maximum subsidy of 300,000 yuan over three consecutive years. 

Newly recognized scientific and technological service enterprises, will receive a maximum of 100,000 yuan. 

Outstanding enterprises with a growth rate of more than 15 percent will also get 100,000 yuan.

Officials said the promulgation of the measures marks the further optimization of the scientific and technological innovation environment in Yunyan, which is expected to open a new chapter of its technological development.
