Guangzhou's Nansha district is set to transform its picturesque coastline into a coffee destination during the upcoming May Day holiday, offering a unique blend of sea views, specialty brews, and youth culture.

The 2026 Guangzhou Coffee Season Nansha Chapter, which also marks the fourth Nansha Coffee Culture Week, will take place from April 30 to May 4 at Shiao Space along Nansha Bay. Advertised as the first coastal coffee consumption venue in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the five-day event promises an immersive seaside experience just a metro ride away from downtown Guangzhou.

Capitalizing on the district's role as a major port hub, the festival will introduce a special "Nansha Fruit Coffee" category, using fresh seasonal fruits imported directly through the Nansha Port Area. This initiative aims to create a distinct local flavor profile influenced by global trade routes.

The venue itself features European-style architecture and stunning sea views, making it Guangzhou's premier "seaview coffee court". In addition to coffee tasting, the event is designed to serve as a one-stop "micro-vacation" destination. Visitors can easily combine their trip with excursions to nearby attractions such as the Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival, the Nansha Marina and Tianhou Temple.

Aiming to foster a creative community, the event will also host the 2026 China Brewers Cup Guangzhou Division, along with seaside parties and barista training camps. With over 15 coffee brands participating and a pet-friendly policy, the carnival aims to be a dynamic social platform for young people across the Bay Area.
