The Nansha area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone celebrated its 11th anniversary on April 21, highlighting its significant achievements in institutional innovation and economic integration.
Since its establishment, Nansha has launched 62 self-initiated reform measures. Four of these measures have been adopted nationwide by the State Council, while 38 have been replicated across Guangdong Province. Among its notable achievements is a "one-stop" supervision model for cross-border e-commerce returns, which saves enterprises an estimated 50 million yuan ($6.9 million) in annual logistics costs and a streamlined customs process that significantly boosts efficiency.
Taking advantage of its strategic location in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Nansha has accelerated regional connectivity. The "Guangzhou-Hong Kong Auto Express" has reduced the pre-registration waiting time for vehicles in Hong Kong from 14 workdays to under three. Furthermore, the "One Port Pass" initiative now links Nansha Port with 23 inland terminals, cutting cargo storage times from seven days to under two.
By fostering new business formats like financial leasing to advancing green fuel bunkering services, Nansha continues to transform from a "testing field" into a "new highland" of opening-up, injecting sustained vitality into the coordinated development of the Bay Area.
