On New Year's Day, Nansha district witnessed a joyful surge in marriage registrations, with 102 couples tying the knot to mark a fresh start in 2026.
Many newlyweds, carrying flowers and surrounded by veils and balloons, gathered at the district's marriage registration center, where they received professional counseling and took part in solemn certification ceremonies.

To further enhance the experience, Nansha's civil affairs bureau launched the "sweet market", a one-stop fair featuring wedding-related services such as photography, catering, travel, and home decoration. This initiative aims to boost the "sweet economy" by offering exclusive discounts and greater convenience to newlyweds.
On the same day, Huangge town hosted its second traditional wedding culture experience event. Ten couples participated in a series of ancient rituals, including the hair-combing ceremony, the lifting of the red bridal veil, and the exchanging of nuptial cups, reviving the unique charm of Lingnan wedding traditions.
Looking ahead, Nansha plans to integrate wedding customs with cultural tourism by designing themed wedding travel routes, thereby further promoting economic growth and preserving cultural heritage in the district.
