Recently, Yuexin Ocean Engineering hosted a naming ceremony for three new vessels at its Technology Park in Dagang town, Nansha district, marking the company's first such event in 25 years.
At the ceremony, the whistles of the three ships sounded together. Each of the three new vessels features unique characteristics: the TAHID ILIJAN, a 32-meter full-revolving tugboat tailored for the Indian Adani Group; the New North Island, Hong Kong's first entirely electric cargo ship; and the Sugang Dianhang 01, South China's first smart-certified pure-electric container ship in the 4,000-metric-ton class. This event exemplifies Nansha's commitment to the five-port synergy development strategy, which integrates the seaport, airport, digital port, financial port, and talent port.

Yuexin, an industry benchmark, has delivered over 200 special-purpose ships, with its output value increasing by 81.1 percent year-on-year from January to November this year. Located in Dagang town, Yuexin benefits from the construction of the Nansha Marine Equipment Industrial Park, which focuses on advanced manufacturing. The park aims to create an industrial hub with an annual output value exceeding 3 billion yuan ($426 million) and has already attracted numerous high-tech, specialized, sophisticated, distinctive, and innovative enterprises.
Nansha thrives due to its maritime strengths. The district now has a full industrial chain focused around the Longxue Shipbuilding Base. It is home to leading enterprises such as Guangzhou Shipyard International. With an annual shipbuilding capacity over 5.5 million deadweight tons, Nansha has become one of China's three major shipbuilding bases.
