Explore highlights of 2024 Guangzhou Open

After 64 thrilling matches over eight days, the 2024 Guangzhou International Women's Tennis Open (Guangzhou Open) concluded on Oct 27 at the Nansha International Tennis Center.

Serbian player Olga Danilovic clinched the women's singles title in a fierce battle. In contrast, in the women's doubles event, Chinese player Zhang Shuai partnered with Katerina Siniakova to claim the championship.

On the day of the finals, the Nansha International Tennis Center was packed with enthusiastic fans, with tickets selling out half a month in advance, showcasing the vibrant atmosphere of the Guangzhou Open.

Zhang Shuai triumphed over her opponents in the women's doubles final with a score of 6-4, 6-1, securing her 14th tour doubles title. Danilovic, on the other hand, won the women's singles title with a score of 6-3, 6-1, capturing her first crown in China and expressing her love and anticipation for Nansha post-match.

As the host of the Guangzhou Open for the second consecutive year, Nansha demonstrated its rich experience in organizing events and facility advantages, attracting 64 players from 26 countries and regions. The event drew over 12,000 spectators, with online viewership reaching 290,000. Hotel occupancy increased by over 20 percent, achieving significant economic and social benefits.

In the future, Nansha will continue to host sporting events and other distinctive activities.
