On Oct 25, the final round of the 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangdong Division) and the 12th "Pearl River Angel Cup" Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and Award Ceremony took place at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) in Nansha district.
This edition of the competition saw participation from almost 2,000 companies. Through pre-competition training, evaluation through competition, post-competition guidance, and financing connections, 46 high-quality enterprises were selected to enter the national competition, with 200 outstanding enterprises receiving provincial awards.
Since its inception in 2013, the Guangdong division has attracted nearly 36,000 participating companies, driving close to 40 billion yuan ($5.6 billion) in financial capital investment and facilitating the listing of 30 companies.
Representatives of the award-winning companies expressed confidence in Nansha's technological innovation, highlighting the excellent innovation platform and development space provided by the district.
Nansha has introduced various policy measures such as "double 15-percent" tax incentives for enterprises and individuals, extending the loss carry-forward period for high-tech enterprises, establishing a rainforest-style innovation and entrepreneurship service system.
Furthermore, Nansha is constructing strategic scientific and technological forces like the Chinese Academy of Sciences Mingzhu Science Park and the Guangzhou Marine Laboratory, accelerating talent attraction and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship development.
