The ferry is constructed using state-of-the-art carbon fiber high-tech materials, which provides the vessel with a weight reduction of over 20 percent compared to aluminum alloy structures. This breakthrough marks the end of the monopoly of imported materials and signifies the debut of the first domestically produced carbon fiber passenger ferry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The successful application of carbon fiber materials drives development towards lighter and greener solutions.
With a lightweight body, low energy consumption, and long endurance, the ferry has a 360° visualization system, high-quality batteries, and permanent magnet propulsion motors, enhancing safety and reliability. An energy management system and solar photovoltaic power system are set to contribute to environmental protection efforts.
Huang Shengkai, general manager of Zhongwei Composite Materials Company, stated that the success of domestically produced carbon fiber passenger ferries signifies the transformation of new technologies into practical vessels, advancing the development of the maritime industry.
