The unveiling ceremony of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou)'s Sci-tech Achievement Transfer and Transformation Base and the International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community in Nansha Science City was held in Nansha district on Sept 3.
As a comprehensive cooperation demonstration zone for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, Nansha is leveraging the opportunity presented by the base's inauguration to promote cooperation between universities, research institutions, and enterprises, accelerating the local transformation of scientific and technological achievements from institutions like HKUST (Guangzhou).

The establishment of the base will provide high-quality physical space and professional incubation services, aiming to accelerate the cultivation of around 20,000 square meters of new industrial forces in the next five years.
The base leverages the scientific and technological resources of HKUST (Guangzhou) to drive innovation and entrepreneurship in Guangzhou, providing a platform for global innovators.
The International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Community in Nansha Science City will collaborate with other parks to create a comprehensive innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, stimulating the creativity of tech talents and transforming Nansha into a fertile ground for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Professor Lionel M. Ni, president of HKUST(Guangzhou), highlighted HKUST(Guangzhou)'s commitment to transforming the base into a hub for regional sci-tech innovation and achievement transformation, focusing on sci-tech projects in fields of artificial intelligence (AI), new materials, microelectronics, biotechnology, and intelligent manufacturing.
