The 2024 Wanqingsha Town Farming Festival, hosted on April 19 at the Guava Planting Demonstration Base on Wanhuang West Road in Wanqingsha town, Nansha district, marked a significant milestone with the establishment of the Wanqingsha Guava Doctoral Workstation.

During the event, the town and the Fruit Tree Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences jointly established the Wanqingsha Guava Doctoral Workstation, aiming to promote the high-quality development of the local Guava industry.

Recognizing the current landscape of the Guava industry in Wanqingsha, the town has formulated six new initiatives to promote its high-quality growth. These initiatives cover areas such as technological enhancements, policy reinforcement, fruit standardization, variety refinement, land optimization, and environmentally sustainable practices.

On the day of the event, farmer representatives received complimentary high-quality Ruby Guava seedling packages and collectively planted Ruby Guava saplings on-site. 15 households had claimed free seedlings, totaling 5,950 seedlings, covering an area of 59.5 mu (39.6 hectares).

As technology continues to advance, the integration of high-tech tools into agriculture has become increasingly prevalent. From precision plant protection operations to comprehensive data collection and platform management, agricultural drones have gradually reshaped traditional agricultural production methods. The town has also established a station for agricultural and farming information services to promote continuous and stable growth in farmers' income.
