This year's first batch of 195 metric tons of durians from Thailand has arrived at Nansha Port, and these durians will be transported from Nansha Port to various foreign large fruit wholesale markets.

Nansha Customs has conducted a regulatory inspection and released for this batch of durians to ensure efficient customs clearance. In addition, Nansha Customs has promoted the "smart certification" application to expedite the review of document materials, reducing document processing time by over 80 percent.

In response to the characteristics of tropical fresh fruits, Nansha Customs, in conjunction with the durian season in various ASEAN countries, has implemented a one-stop inspection and customs clearance process to facilitate smooth port unloading and customs clearance operations.

With the continuous growth in demand for imported fruits from Southeast Asia, the business volume of related companies is expected to continue to increase, with an initial estimate of imported fruits reaching 38,000 tons this year. Nansha Customs has already coordinated with companies to promptly obtain information about the arrival time of goods at the port, guiding them to adopt measures such as advance declaration and paperless customs clearance, ensuring timely inspection upon goods' arrival.

Fruit importers are eagerly preparing for the highly anticipated durian sales peak season. As per the usual trend, Thai durians are set to become widely available in mid-April each year, followed by a variety of fruits such as mangosteens and coconuts by the end of May.
