Longxue folk festival ignites cultural celebration in Nansha

The Longxue Folk Culture Festival, part of the Seaside Tourism Carnival 2023, kicked off in Nansha district, Guangzhou, in South China's Guangdong province on Dec 19.

The festivities opened with an exuberant Qilin dance, while the lively beats of drums and gongs enhanced the festive ambiance, as captivated the audience with its elegant movements.

This cultural extravaganza featured an array of folk performances including enchanting dances, Cantonese opera, and acrobatics.

The festival also included a market showcasing a variety of folk crafts, innovative cultural products, artisanal woven goods, and agarwood products. Delicious local snacks, such as egg puffs, and fresh seasonal fruits added to the charm, tantalizing the taste buds of visitors.

A special highlight was the Longxue Island Wetland Ecological Art and Photography Exhibition. This displayed a range of art, calligraphy, and photography pieces, reflecting the area's vibrant marine culture, ecological diversity, port activities, shipbuilding industry, folk customs, and developmental achievements.

The festival marked Longxue sub-district's efforts to synergistically integrate with nearby attractions like Nansha Tianhou Palace and Nansha Wetland Park, aiming to boost the local economy.

The inclusion of cultural and eco-friendly products from these areas showcased successful regional collaboration, enriching the festival experience.
