Nansha's first food documentary, titled "Taste of Nansha," was recently released online, local media outlets reported on Aug 30.

The 15-minute documentary is divided into four segments: rustic taste rooted in local customs, Cantonese cuisine infused with lingnan flavors, Danjia-style cusine, and diverse international flavors.

The documentary was filmed at more than 10 representative locations, including the Pearl River Estuary, the Shisanchong area, a fish market, Nansha Innovation Bay, and the museum of Cantonese cakes and pastries.

Over 10 typical Nansha dishes were included in the filming process, such as crabs, Huangge roast pork and Guangfu pastry. The documentary reveals the entire process from the selection of ingredients, to the making the food, and finally the tasting of the dish.

Through several tempting dishes, this documentary also showcases the unique culinary approach that the people in Nansha take. It presents their distinct pursuit of perfectly conveying their history and culture in their cuisine.

Through this documentary, viewers can not only experience the visual aesthetics that evoke taste buds, but also feel the district's local customs that lie beyond the realm of food.
