The northern coast of Hengli Island and its waterfront landscape belt are currently undergoing vigorous construction. The overall progress of this landscaping project is close to 50 percent completion, local media outlets reported on July 18.
The landscape belt along the northern coast of Hengli Island totals approximately 2.6 kilometers in length, and it has a width that varies from 100 meters to 180 meters.
One of the main highlights of this belt project is the extensive planting of trees, including bauhinia variegata and kapok. These trees were carefully selected for their vibrant red or pink colors, which will create a splendid visual effect along the coast.
Along the belt, there will be more than 10 attractions, including several children's playgrounds, squares, walkways, wetlands, and the "Eye of Hengli". The landscaping embankment road is expected to serve as the main road that connects all of these attractions.
Overall, the project aims to create a beautiful and vibrant waterfront landscape for the northern part of Hengli Island. It will provide recreational and leisure spaces for residents and visitors alike.
This project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
