The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) decided to admit undergraduate students from Guangdong, Shandong, Sichuan, Henan, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas countries in 2023, local media outlets reported on Feb 8.
HKUST (Guangzhou) is committed to build the world's first university focusing on integrated disciplines by exploring the new higher education 2.0 model.
Undergraduate students will be recruited in large intakes and trained in stages. They will finish their courses in the first two years, regardless of their majors, and then begin to study in different majors in the third year.
All majors of the university are emerging frontier disciplines, and three of them will be opened to undergraduate students this year: artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing engineering, and data science and big data technology.
The university has a variety of accommodation types, such as single rooms, suites, six-person dormitories, seven-person dormitories, and eight-person dormitories. Undergraduate students in 2023 will temporarily live in the single rooms.
