The First Affiliated (Nansha) Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University is currently undergoing equipment installation and debugging, interior space cleaning, as well as other final preparations to begin its trial operation in May, with a projected opening in June.

Containing 1,500 beds, the hospital has a construction area of about 500,000 square meters. It is equipped with world-class medical equipment, such as a medical linear accelerator, large-aperture CTs, and orthopedic surgery robots.
The north area includes the outpatient building and the inpatient building, while the south area includes the international medical center, the teaching and administrative complex building, the scientific research building, the animal experiment center, as well as the academic reporting hall.
After the hospital is completed, it will become an international medical center, a treatment center for public health disasters in the Greater Bay Area, as well as medical research and achievement transformation center.
The hospital is located in the geographic center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is directly connected to exit A of Hengli Station on Metro Line 18. Two underground parking lots are designed to serve patients from all over the country who come for medical treatment.
