Nansha auto import, export business flourishes

Nansha is an important automobile production base in Guangzhou, with Nansha Automobile Port exporting more than 18,000 vehicles from January to March, an eight-fold year-on-year increase.

A total of 1,974 cars were exported from Nansha to the Middle East after passing inspections by Nansha customs on April 5.

Relying on the improving transportation system, Nansha Automobile Port has been expanding its business domestically. Currently, cars made in Chongqing can reach Nansha Automobile Port in only three days, traveling 1,500 kilometers by road and rail transport.

Nansha has the largest ro-ro auto port in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the largest auto domestic trade port in China.

Shazai Island in Nansha will be built into the largest ro-ro terminal cluster in China, with a 1.8-kilometer wharf shoreline and a nearly 1.6 million square meter parking area. It has a parking capacity for more than 65,000 vehicles and an annual clearance capacity of two million vehicles.

In the future, Nansha will continue to improve port infrastructure, provide convenient and efficient services for vehicle imports and exports, as well as help domestic automobile brands increase their export volume. In addition, it will increase the number of automobile imports to meet the demand for automobile consumption in South China.
