The Greater Bay Science Forum 2021 will take place in Guangzhou's Nansha district from Dec 11 to 13.
A high-level general assembly, six sub-forums and a special summit on scientific innovation will be held, and will gather global top scientists and international science organizations to explore future developments in science.
Many international scientists have sent their regards to the forum via videos.
Teng Jinguang, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, noted that the Greater Bay Science Forum 2021 will be of great significance.
This year's high-level forum will build an exhibition window to comprehensively show the great achievements that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has made in the science and technology innovation, and Guangzhou will strive to gather wisdom globally, which will contribute to turning the Greater Bay Area into an international creative engine.
Experts will share the latest research outcomes and progress on pressing issues such as the prediction and warning of the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies that may be encountered in the future, the healthy development of the world's network communication technology, and the United Nations' sustainable development goals during the six sub-forums.
