Guangzhou Customs has launched a total of 53 innovative measures to help improve the business environment in the Nansha Area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone since its establishment five years ago.
The clearance for imported goods only took 31.8 hours by December 2019, shortening the time by 64.96 percent than that in 2017, and the time for exported goods has decreased by 88.25 percent to 3.46 hours in 2019 compared with the time two years ago.
A total of 3,179 companies have finished customs registration by the end of 2019, increasing by nearly 12 times than that five years ago.
Guangzhou Customs has carried out deeper exploration into launching the international allocation supervision model, offering all-around policy support for local companies and boosting the development of Nansha's international distribution business.
The import and export trade volume of Nansha Bonded Port has reached 73.46 billion yuan ($10.38 billion), up 14.5 percent year-on-year.
Due to the one-stop service launched by Guangzhou Customs in Nansha, companies have been able to handle different business matters at the same service counter.
A total of 49 administrative examination and approval issues, as well as government service affairs, have been able to be dealt with online, which require no paper works, reducing costs in both time and manpower for local companies.
Making full use of advanced technologies like augmented reality and artificial intelligence, Guangzhou Customs has contributed greatly to turning Nansha into an international shipping hub by providing a convenient and fast clearance environment.
By the end of the first quarter of 2020, Nansha Port has opened 105 international ship lines, establishing sea trade relationships with more than 400 ports from over 100 countries and regions around the world, as well as being home to over 7,000 shipping logistics companies.
