A three-year action plan on deepening the reform of the local business environment in Guangzhou's Nansha district was released during a press conference on April 16.

The action plan has launched 14 detailed measures covering four areas, namely improving the market environment, upgrading government service levels, strengthening market entities protection, as well as enhancing regulatory and law enforcement capabilities.

It is expected that Nansha will be built into a hub for its business environment with international competitiveness that is among the world leaders.

Two new measures were also launched during the event as the year 2020 marks the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Nansha Area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, of which one of the measures aimed to simplify processes for local companies and residents in handling government affairs issues.

Xu Liaoyuan, a staff member from the Nansha government affairs service data administration bureau, said that efforts have been made by the district in dealing with problems caused by providing unnecessary materials for local companies and people.

Xu added that the district has made full use of data sharing platforms and coordinated cooperation between different government departments, allowing people to handle issues without handing in materials by themselves.

An evaluation report on Nansha's business environment in 2019 made by an independent third-party investigative agency was unveiled on the same day, announcing that Nansha ranked 24th globally according to the standards published by the World Bank, climbing five places from its 2018 ranking.

Pan Yuzhang, deputy director of the administrative committee of the Nansha Area of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, noticed that Nansha will keep focusing on improving the local business environment with the goal of entering the top 20 in the simulation assessment on business environment, using the evaluation system of the World Bank, in the next three years.
