The Planning and Research Center of the Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone recently conducted a tender for comprehensive transportation planning consulting service (2020) in the city’s Nansha New Area.
The project aims to improve transportation system in Nansha and forge the district into a portal to connect Guangzhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Greater Bay Area.
The budget is 2.82 million yuan ($395,878.37), and the service period is from the date of signing to Feb 28, 2021.
The document clearly states that the plan will coordinate with the urban development plan and protect original natural ecology. It will also review any outstanding conflicts in the development of the free trade zone and recent traffic problems, and offer technical demonstration support for subsequent solutions.
The main task is to develop a series of transportation services plans, including coordination of the land and space planning of Nansha New Area and incorporation of its urban renewal and reconstruction project including detailed consultation for key areas.
The undertaking unit shall cooperate with the land and space planning work of the new area, and combine the latest changes in the local comprehensive transportation system to harmonize specific traffic planning content.
In response to the needs of new urban development and industrial layout in key areas, it calls for consulting on urban renewal projects and detailed planning of the southern Nansha area this year.
Based on the developed river systems in the district, the project will involve special research on various forms and applicable conditions of cross-river passages.
That will require taking into account the road function, the development of surrounding land, and the conditions of the road network.
