On Feb 10, over 500 manufacturing companies in Guangzhou’s Nansha district resumed production with solid measures taken to prevent and control the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic.
They prepared enough masks, arranged food-deliver services and rehearsed strict inspection of people in advance.
As of 16:30 on that day, applications from 541 industrial enterprises had been received, and the number of follow-up companies continued to increase.
Nansha is home to 124 key companies in artificial intelligence, business services, advanced manufacturing and biomedicine. Forty-seven of them have resumed work, a rate of nearly 40 percent.
In addition, many commercial, financial and technological firms have restored production by flexible shifts or remote working via phone and internet.
Related departments have been providing guidance to enterprises, including epidemic prevention information needed to handle emergencies.

The company has a number of world-leading automated air-conditioning production lines. After continuous transformation and upgrading, now only 3,700 employees are needed to reach the production level previously attained by 8,000 workers; a significant human resource savings.
“We are determined to do our best to fully restore production capacity within two weeks,” said Wang Xiaojin, project leader of the company. “The annual target is over 8.26 million sets of sprints, and we strive to achieve an output value of over 10 billion yuan in 2020.”
“The preparation work for this year must be more sufficient than in previous years, since we had longer down-time,” he added.
The port industry involves the national economy and the people’s livelihood. During Spring Festival, port production was not interrupted.
As of Feb 8, Guangzhou Port Group had seen 8,840 employees on duty. The proportion of on-site employees reached 67 percent.
