Guangzhou’s Nansha district has put the construction of six new roads near the Pearl Bay Area out to tender.
When completed, they will speed up the construction of the planned international financial island.
The construction, sited on Hengli island, contains one secondary trunk road and five by-passes. Bridge structure was adopted at two river-crossing segments.
The roads were designed to be 18 to 30 meters wide. The total length adds up to 4.27 kilometers.
The design content of the whole project includes road engineering, bridge and culvert engineering, lighting, water supply and drainage, integrated pipelines, traffic engineering, green landscaping, and design coordination.
The Nansha Development Zone has invested 2.1 billion yuan ($297.96 million) in the project from its fiscal fund. The part for building expense was approximately 1.6 billion yuan.
