The conference, sponsored by CNBC channel, which is globally the largest business and financial media organization, gathered together the world’s most powerful tech leaders.

High-tech companies exhibited their latest projects including light-emitting diode (LED) chips, intelligent robots and precision-carving products in the display section.

Beijing Jingdiao Group laid out some eggs with decorative carvings to catch visitors’ eyes. Carving on eggshells requires high accuracy and stability when operating the machine tools.

These machine tools are adapted into dozens of industries such as precision molding, household appliances and jewelry, with cooperative enterprises including Foxconn, Gree, Midea and Chow Tai Fook.

The group, which specializes in the development and production of high-end CNC machine tools, will construct a smart manufacturing base in Nansha by 2021.

Two local robot enterprises shined at the meeting. The company Dorabot rolled out a model of intelligent robot, designed for logistics and storage duties, which are able to save manpower equaling two or three people.

Another firm, Bona Robot, showcased its featured products: robot cleaners. Among domestic brands, it ranks among the top three in exports to Europe, with its yearly output exceeding two million units.

In addition, many representatives showed their intention to relocate to Nansha due to its high-quality transportation, living conditions and financial environment.

“The district plays an increasing role in regional transportation by sea, land and air,” said Max Raven, senior vice president of CNBC Catalyst. “We have built a regional office in Guangzhou this year to report business news in Guangdong province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.”

Chen Anming, deputy secretary-general of Guangdong province, indicated that the local government will seize the opportunity of coordinated development of the Bay Area, pressing for technological as well as institutional innovation in order to promote skills mobility and resource agglomeration.
