The Evergrande New Energy Auto Global Strategic Partners Summit was held in Guangzhou, South China on Nov 12, gathering representatives from 206 of the world’s powerhouses in the automobile industry.
Evergrande Group is a Chinese leading property developer listed in the Fortune Global 500. Chairman Xu Jiayin, or Hui Ka Yan used this occasion to introduce the group’s motives, objectives and plans to enter the new energy vehicle field.
He indicated that the group will step up efforts in strategic cooperation with global industrial leaders to fulfill its dream of motor manufacturing.
The summit, themed with “Great Times, Great Opportunity, Great Cooperation, Great Future”, opened its arms to leagues of excellent companies in engineering technology, design and component supply.
At the meeting, the re-focused Chinese giant signed agreements with 60 suppliers. Senior executives from FEV, EDAG and Pininfarina gave speeches.
“We are committed to a way of green, low-carbon, and sustainable development. Guangzhou is one of the country’s three major automobile manufacturing bases. The government will support industrial upgrading, and hopes to see a brighter future from all the efforts,” said Wen Guohui, mayor of Guangzhou.
A new energy auto base lying in Guangzhou’s Nansha district plays a pivotal role of Evergrande’s motor segment. Nansha will construct a headquarters and several centers of vehicle manufacturing, research & development and sales to foster an intact industrial chain of collaborating upstream and downstream enterprises.
