Guangzhou’s Nansha district has recently placed a dynamic supervising platform in all of its kindergartens, guaranteeing food safety for 20,000 children. The platform keeps an eye on the sanitary situation and food quality in the infant schools through real-time warning, diet control and data analysis functions, helping prevent risky food incidents.

“We regularly input the information about suppliers, ingredients, expiration dates and recipes as well. The platform sends notifications when the foods are almost expired, and provides a nutritional analysis report in a timely manner,” said a lady surnamed Luo, the food safety officer in the Kindergarten of South China Normal University.
The platform also connects with the previously installed kitchen monitoring system. “If someone doesn’t wear a chef hat or a mask, or if mice are found in the kitchen, the system will automatically send back to the supervisor the clips from the monitoring videos,” said a project leader of the developers.
The technology benefits unified management of the districts’ infant food safety. A quick suspension order not to use problem ingredients is passed to all related schools once any goods are detected as unqualified.
The system, introduced from the beginning of the year, is now operational in all of the 135 nursery schools in the district, protecting 20,000 kids.
