The commemorative set, which made its public debut at a grand philatelic exhibition from Sept 28 to Oct 7, was designed to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It has three stamps with different themes: the international innovation center, the area’s smooth structural flow, and high-quality living community.

The third uses typical landscapes including Nansha wetland scenery and other representative cultural elements to portray the bay area’s foremost image of people.
The Haijing Tower and the Jiuqu Lotus Bridge are featured in the images of the wetland.

The 21-meter-high tower with four pillars, is one of the landmarks of the wetland. Its architectural design was inspired by the Nanyue Kingdom’s outpost dating back 2,000 years. The stone pillars were made of sea sheks steeped in water for dozens of years.

The wetland’s 1,000 mu lotus pond (666,666.67 square meters) welcomes tourists with its blossom of lotus in summer every year. The lotuses have an extra flavor of life as they grow where salt and fresh water meet. Wandering across the bridge, travelers can immerse themselves in the beautiful scenery and faint scent.
