Nansha now has a new library, park and supporting facilities that enrich residents’ lives. A half-hour traffic circle has been in place since the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway and the Nansha Bridge were opened.

The district has turned into a happy place to live, work and visit with high-quality development and status as a state-level new zone and free trade zone.

The local economy is rapidly developing, driven by emerging industry, shipping logistics industry and high-end manufacturing. Nansha is becoming more and more reputed for fantastic cross-border e-commerce.

Nansha has 10,000 mu (6.67 square kilometers) of wet land, attracting a large number of migratory birds to spend their winter every year. Bird species in the district numbered 180 as of the end of 2018, and included the first-class national level protected bird Haliaeetus albicilla, a kind of white-tailed eagle.

The district is home to the largest and highest-grade yacht club and three national 4A scenic spots.

In addition, the International Cruise Ship Home Port will open in November this year, and the Adicon Medical Laboratory is now operational.
