Beijing Daxing International Airport was instantly noted for its cutting-edge technology and intelligent services after its maiden flight on Sept 25 of this year. One such service, its remarkable face-scanning for aircraft-boarding, is supported by CloudWalk, a Nansha-based tech firm.
The company has served over 80 airports which receive on average two million tourists per day since it was founded in Guangzhou’s Nansha district in 2015.
It is now part of an intelligent and integrated travel service system with contributions from China Eastern Airlines, Huawei Technologies and China Unicom.
The system makes paperless travel accessible to tourists at Daxing airport by 5G and artificial intelligence technology.
Based on its estimated throughput, Daxing airport is expected to utilize face-scanning check-ins more than 100 million times.
Passengers can easily get information about their reserved fights, seats and current positions as they enjoy the all-in-one services available through the face registration technology, augmented reality glasses and intelligent flight information display equipment.
In addition, CloudWalk also rolled out luggage checking self-service and a radio frequency luggage identification device to help passengers enjoy paperless travel to the full.
The technology can not only speed up the system’s operating rate but also guarantee accurate verification. Many airports have detained intruders using fake ID cards with its help.
