Pearl River Delta water resources allocation project in full swing

Updated: 2019-08-02

The Guangzhou Public Resource Trading Center announced the results of the auction of State-owned land use rights on July 26.

Guangzhou Nansha GDH Real Estates Co won the 2019NYJ-6 plot in Guangzhou's Nansha district for 69 million yuan ($9.95 million), which means that the Pearl River Delta water resources allocation project headquarters will be located in the Nansha Pearl Bay Area.

The 2019NYJ-6 plot, a financial business development pilot area, is located at the Lingshan Island Pointed Area of Nansha district. The total land area is 14,465 sq m.

It is close to Fenghuang Avenue and the main roads along the Pearl River, and faces the Jiaomen River area. And it is only about four kilometers away from the Nansha District Government.

The water resources allocation project in the Pearl River Delta currently generates the world's highest water transfer pressure and has the longest water transfer shield tunnel.

It is a strategic project to enhance the water security of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The project passes through the core urban agglomeration of the Pearl River Delta with deep pipeline water delivery. The total length of the water transmission line is 113 kilometers, with an investment of about 35.4 billion yuan.

The intake area is home to nearly 30 million people, which will effectively solve water shortages in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan, and provide emergency backup water for Hong Kong and other places.
