Administrative committee of Guangzhou' s Nansha Development Zone reached an agreement with the China Future Internet Engineering Center (CFIEC) on July 25 stating that they will construct an innovation center to prop up local digital economy development.

The innovation center is about to deploy a root server matching international Internet Protocol Version 6. This root server, together with offshore big data service, internet computing service, internet industrial park, comprise a series of IPv6 major projects.
It is introduced that this innovation program complies with the national strategy of strengthening information infrastructure construction, and will benefit Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a whole.
Root server is in charge of top-level domain name resolution, thereby dubbed as " nervous central is of internet " .
IPv6, designed by Internet Engineering Task Force, is a new generation protocol in place of version 4 by virtue of its higher efficiency of data transmission, more convenient network administration and higher security and reliance.
" IPv6 next generation internet is the only way to future development in face of the tide of globalization, " said Liu Dong, director of the CFIEC.
China is trying to forge an independent technology system and industry, and build the biggest network in business field across the world, according to the plan issued by General Office of the CPC Central Committee and State Council.
