Nansha area of the Pilot Free Trade Zone is located in the city of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province.
In 2018, Nansha saw the establishment of 38,000 new enterprises, with a total registered capital ofmore than 830 billion yuan ($120.60 billion).The number of newly-established foreign-invested enterprises in 2018 increased 3.3 folds from the previous year.
The statistics for Hong Kong-invested and Macao-invested enterprises were seven and six times respectively. Among the 38,000 new businesses, there were over 3,000 financial or quasi-financial corporations. And 36 projects were invested by Fortune 500 companies.
Nansha is also home to the Nansha Artificial Value Innovation Park, 130 plus artificial intelligence companies and a national-level headquarter and production base for combustible ice.
For the first quarter of 2019, the district has achieved a GDP of more than 33 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 11.9 percent, making it the fastest-growing area in Guangzhou. More than 11,000 businesses has been set up, registering a76 percent increase from a year earlier. Nansha has also welcomed eight new investment projects by Fortune 500 companies.
Harnessing the initiative of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater BayArea, Nansha has been committed to developing itself into a center of sci-tech innovation.
The area hosts a number of sci-tech businesses and organizations, including Nansha Information Technology Park, Guangzhou HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute, Guangzhou International Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute and Heung Kong International Technovation Centre.
In a simulation measurement against the "2019 Business Environment Report", the district is ranked 29th in the world. The three indicators such as starting a business, connecting to the grid and executing contracts are among the top 10. For instance, it is as rapid to start a business in Nansha as in the most efficient countries or regions.
The area has also focused on youth entrepreneurship and talents. In place are the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao (International) Youth Entrepreneur Hub and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Cultural and Creative Start-Up Community to help young people from Hong Kong and Macao in particular to start their businesses.
It has also introduced a series of competitive talent policies, and since 2015, has distributed more than 350 million yuan in talent incentives.
