Longxue Island

At the southernmost part of Guangzhou, there is a long island, lying on the vast expanse of the sea. It is said that it was once the palace of the Dragon King of the South China Sea. So it is called Longxue Island.

The area of Longxue Island was originally only one to two square kilometers. After years of reclamation, it has expanded to more than 40 square kilometers. It is now the largest island in Guangzhou.

The island is located on the northwest side of the ocean. The Pearl River water passing through Jiaomen and Humen is injected into the sea from both sides. People can drive from Fuzhou Bridge to Longxue Island, through the tunnel-like green trees, a blue sky appears outside the window, and the sea and the sky are connected. 

The people living here are simple fishermen and also strugglers. They are all contributing to the better tomorrow of the Longxue Island in their own different ways.

In addition, Longxue Island is placed at the junction of salty and fresh water, so it produces a lot of unique seafood. Known as the King Crab, the butter crab has a good taste. Once the seafood harvest season comes, the butter crab would be snapped up. 

Sparus latus, drumfish, and scatophagus argus are all called golden fishes here. They are all low-fat, delicious food with sweet and tender taste. In the Longxue Island resort, you can not only eat underwater food. The Lingnan-style bamboo tower, combined with modern floor-to-ceiling windows expresses the feeling of Jiangnan taste.

Sam Sing Kung Chinese Temple, located on Longxue Island with a history of more than 100 years is the most historical and cultural place on the island. Now it still retains the Qing Dynasty style with green porcelain tile and yellow ridge roof.

Longxue Island enjoys the view of the natural water town. The night fishing pond becomes a famous fishing spot and attracts countless fishing enthusiasts. With the singing sea and bright moon light, fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the double fun here.
