Experts discuss ways to develop AI in Nansha

Guangzhou's Nansha district held a reading event featuring artificial intelligence (AI)technology at the Xiangjiang International Science and Technology Innovation Center on the World Book Day, which falls on April 23.

Participants experienced "black technology" such as face recognition sign-ins, smart vending machines, smart security checks, and smart dressing. They felt the charm of artificial intelligence technology, and also saw the flourishing development of the Nansha'sAI industry.

The general manager of the iFLY TEK' s subsidiary for business in SouthChina, Li Lunjun, recommended a book -- A Brief History of Artificial Intelligence.

"The most important thing about AI is the large database. The reason why we came to Nansha is that we are optimistic about the collection of big data in Guangzhou," he said.

Lin Mingdu, general manager of Cloudwalk, also shared the concept of cloud-based technology to establish a world-leading AI visual image innovation R&D center in Nansha.

Li Lingqi, director of the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Guangzhou Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, reviewed China's development process from automation, IT to AI.

Participants discussed and exchanged ideas on how AI can understand human intentions and how the technology can achieve risk control.
