DMAI becoming an artificial intelligence leader in Nansha

A new artificial intelligence (AI) company announced its establishment in Nansha, Guangzhou on April 16.

As a startup company committed to building a new generation of strong cognitive AI technology platforms, DMAI with a market value of about $300 million completed tens of millions of dollars in Pre-A round financing in September last year .

Dong Le, assistant chairman of DMAI and vice president of its Greater China Operations, said that DMAI will first focus on education, health, new retail and other fields, and will lead AI technology change with strong cognition in the future.

Cai Chaolin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Party secretary of the CPC Nansha District Committee, said that the AI industry had become the key development direction of Nansha, and Nansha had also become a gathering place for AI enterprises.

To date, Nansha has built four industrial research and development platforms, including the Guangzhou International Artificial Intelligence Industry Research Institute, the Guangzhou Intelligent Software Industry Research Institute, the IFLY TEK South China Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and the Cloudwalk Artificial Intelligence Visual Image Innovation Center. More than 160 AI companies have gathered in Nansha.

Nansha is included in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is becoming a significant home of the AI industry.

DMAI was founded in Los Angeles in July 2017 and came to Nansha in July 2018. One of the educational products of DMAI is a small robot goose. The robot helps students do mathematics. It not only displays the questions and answers, but also learns from the students' expressions and voices to sense their reactions.

Lin Hao, CEO of DMAI's Greater China Area said: "We want the robots and people to communicate directly, and improve the function of AI from both emotional intelligence and IQ."

In the future, DMAI will cooperate with Qtone education group in AI teaching and artificial intelligence public services and also cooperate with Henderson in health care.
