The customs supervision area is on the first floor of the terminal building. The functional area is 920 square meters. After renovation, it will be the place at where tourists pick up their luggage.

“The first floor of the terminal building is for passenger arrival, so the baggage extraction is designed as the largest area,” said by Li Wei, assistant manager of the project department of CCCC.

A waiting hall, exit customs inspection area, exit inspection hall, exit customs inspection area, entry inspection hall, entry customs inspection area, duty-free shops and outdoor platforms are all planned for the second floor.

A total of 32 self-service passages, 14 personal counters, two employee passages and two seafarers' passages will be positioned in the inspection hall.

Port authorities such as customs, border inspection, and the maritime department can connect through data interfaces to achieve information integration.

The terminal building will also adopt a smart customs clearance platform, using the Internet of Things platform for intelligent monitoring of baggage goods.

The terminal is equipped with sensing devices enabling cruise port transportation vehicles to realize automatic route distribution, logistics information collection, data exchange and sharing. New functions and technologies such as face recognition and video flow analysis will also help to improve traffic circulation.

The ceiling of the building is composed of a streamer and a grille. GRG material has become the first choice for individualized buildings. It is by far the most popular replacement material for building material decorations in the world. GRG materials can also naturally adjust to indoor humidity.

The "Whale Boat" image of a whale swimming into the sea is the iconic image of the Nansha International Cruise Home Port. In order to accurately create this external image, the curtain wall area of the terminal building reaches about 78,500 square meters, and the facade is decorated with a large number of curved aluminum plates.

The terminal building uses 19,765 aluminum panels, with an area of about 24,400 square meters, accounting for about 32 percent of curtain wall construction.
