Nansha to build two experimental schools

The Guangzhou Nansha District People's Government and the Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau agreed to build the Guangzhou Bay Area Experimental School and Bay Area Experimental Kindergarten at a conference in the city on March 26.

After the completion of the two campuses, 4,140 places will be offered for enrollment.

The Guangzhou Bay Area Experimental School is a public institution with a nine-year system model. The school is located at the first phase of Pearl Bay area Lingshan Island Point in Nansha. Intended as a demonstration school, it covers an area of about 160 mu (10.67 hectares).

The school will set up 36 classes for primary and secondary school students, with a total of 3,420 available places.

Guangzhou Bay Area Experimental Kindergarten is also public. Located at the north side of the fourth phase of Binhai project in Nansha, it covers an area of about 40 mu (2.67 hectares) and will be built into a national first-class kindergarten with the characteristics of the Bay Area and an international advanced level.

There will be 24 classes for 720 students in the kindergarten. It will be officially open in September this year. 

The two school's enrollment will be carried out in accordance with the district's admission policy. The infrastructure scale and function of the two schools will be set and appropriately improved in accordance with the current standards.

According to the agreement, the schools will be entrusted to the Guangzhou Education Research Institute and be incorporated into the Guangzhou Experimental Education Group.

Guangzhou Education Research Institute is a comprehensive educational scientific research institution directly under the Guangzhou Municipal Education Bureau.

It gathers the best education and teaching talents and is known as the area's “think tank". Due to the scientific research strength of the institute and the advantages of expert resources, the overall quality of education in Nansha will improve.

A lot of quality education resources are settled in Nansha, which will promote its economic and social development as well as the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
