On March 7, a seminar on cooperation and development in the cruise industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was held at Nansha Garden Hotel.

The seminar invited representatives from the Pearl River Navigation Administration of the Ministry of Transport and Transportation,the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation, port departments such as maritime affairs, customs and border inspection, experts in tourism development research, representatives of cultural broadcasting and television tourism management departments and representatives of relevant enterprises.
The released Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan provides suggestions for cruise industry cooperation and development in the area.
Chen Hongxian, director general of the Guangzhou Port Authority, Lin Guoqiang, deputy director general of the Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Pan Yuzhang, deputy director general of the Administrative Committee of the Nansha Development Zone (Nansha District of the Free Trade Zone) attended the seminar.

The reporter learned from the seminar that in 2018,three major cruise ports in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area received over 2.5 million inbound and outbound tourists. The cruise industry has a very favorable development condition and broad market prospects.
At the seminar, representatives from all sides gave suggestions for the cruise industry ranging from a policy of environment guarantees, cooperation and exchange of cruise tourism and construction of a cruise industry chain to development of cruise products.
They then conducted close exchanges and discussions on topics such as comprehensively upgrading the cruise industry and creating a world-class cruise destination.
At the seminar, the Genting Cruise Group also released a one-day new route around the Bay Area. Visitors will be able to experience the landscapes of the major cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Pan Yuzhang said that Nansha cruise tourism has become a new business card for Guangzhou. In order to comprehensively improve its service, Nansha will continue to optimize the policy ofsupporting the cruise industry and building a Nansha cruise tourism brand.
Nansha will actively exchange and cooperate with home ports of the surrounding cities, take full advantage of each other's strong points, and contribute to the new development of the cruise tourism industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
