2018 Economic work: remarkable achievements in six major areas

1. The quality and efficiency of the real economy steadily improved in 2018

It is estimated that the regional GDP will be around 150 billion yuan ($22.32 billion), and the growth rate will exceed the city's average level. The output value of industrial enterprises above designated size was 242.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.8%.

Tax revenue was 55.57 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%. The general public budget revenue was 7.52 billion yuan, a comparable increase of 16.3%.

The automobile manufacturing industry achieved an industrial output value of 103.1 billion yuan, becoming the first advanced manufacturing industry cluster in the region with an output value exceeding 100 billion yuan.

2. Business environment was optimized

Nansha made 105 new reform and innovation achievements, of which 17 were instituted and promoted in the country, 16 were instituted in the province, and 31 were instituted in the city.

Enterprise investment projects can now be approved within 15 working days from the acquisition of land to the granting of construction permits.

The project“transfer land with design plan”was realized with the rule“once acquisition of the land occurs, the construction starts". The overall satisfaction of government services ranked first in the city. 

3. Technological innovation capability improved 

The annual financial and technological expenditure of the district was 1.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 65.39%.

Patent applications numbered 9,875, a year-on-year increase of 98.5%. Invention patent applications were 2,830, an increase of 76.3% and patent authorization reached 4,521, an increase of 79.8%. 

It is estimated that 173 new high-tech enterprises will be added, an increase of 42% year-on-year and nine new R&D institutions will be gathered, accounting for 16% of the city's total. 

4. New breakthroughs in key project construction

The investment in various major projects was 92.13 billion yuan, and the annual investment plan was 102.3%.

At present, there are 540 projects with invested with more than 5 million yuan, and total investment reaches 327.29 billion yuan. 

5.The results of investment promotion were fruitful

In the whole year, 36 new Fortune 500 enterprises were introduced, and 38,000 new enterprises were established.

The newly added registered capital was 832.38 billion yuan, up 76.2% and 52% respectively.

6. People-benefit projects were accelerated

Ten work goals for improving livelihoods were achieved.SCNU No. 2 Middle School was opened, and the Primary school affiliated to Guangzhou Foreign Language School started formal enrollment.

Kindergarten, primary and secondary school students numbering 5,490 were newly enrolled. The first Hospital (Nansha) affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University started construction, and the Nansha Hospital of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine settled in Nansha. Construction of the only national health tourism demonstration base in the province was started.
