The Nansha Housing Security and Management Bureau announced the first qualified applicants for talent apartments on Oct 29.

Eighteen applicants from six units, four backbone talents and fourteen in reserve, were approved by the Land Resources and Planning Department, the Human Resources and Social Security Department and the Housing Security Department of Nansha District.

Final selection of housing will occur in November.

The 332 talent apartments are located in the Sunny Coast community, Huanshi Avenue of Nansha district. 51 are for high-end leading personnel and 281 are for backbone and reserved talents.

According to the requirements, housing selection will be prioritized based on the scores a unit has obtained. If a unit applied for apartments for backbones, each person will be counted as 20 points; for reserved talents, each is 10 points. If the scores are the same, the selection will be done according to the application time.

"The policy on talent apartments has had a great effect on the young people who have come to work in Nansha in recent years; it provides the basis for living and working in peace and contentment," said Xu Chaoran, Guangzhou branch of the Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He went on to say that he hoped young people's needs for external interaction would be considered more in site selection, so that the apartments would be closer to the central area with more convenient living facilities.

Zhang Jiuli from Guangzhou Decheng Import & Export Trade Co said that she was surprised by the strong support from the government on talent apartment applications and by the efficiency and care shown by relevant reception staff. She passed the preliminary examination smoothly.

Gu Hanyu, assistant to the general manager of Guangdong APT Electronics Co Ltd, said that talent apartments are important for the stability of high-end personnel and the recruitment of talents in the future. He added that after settling down, he hoped that his family could come to Nansha.

The six units that applied for the apartments include the Guangzhou branch of the Computer Network Information Center of CAS, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Municipal Committee of Nansha District, Guangdong APT Electronics Co Ltd, the Institute of Software Application Technology, the Guangzhou & Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou Shipyard International Co and Guangzhou Decheng Import & Export Trade Co.

During the announcement period, if there is any objection to the list, a written appeal shall be submitted to the Housing Security Department of the district. If the appeal materials are not submitted in accordance with the regulations within the prescribed period, the appeal shall be denied.
