With a total construction area of approximately 183,000 square meters, the project integrates research and development offices with pilot production, providing a platform for transforming scientific and technological achievements.

For a long time, the core technology of aviation tires has been controlled by foreign countries, with its manufacturing process being complex and directly related to aircraft safety. To break free from this predicament, the Huangpu Institute of Materials has constructed a large facility to tackle key technological challenges in aviation tires.

This large facility includes core equipment such as the Aviation Tire High Acceleration Test Stand, laying the foundation for the industrialization of bio-inspired rubber aviation tires. It has been shown through testing that the bio-inspired rubber aviation tires developed by Chinese scientists have an increased lifespan of over 35 percent under extreme conditions compared to natural rubber tires.

Researchers have also developed digital tire industry software to achieve tire structure design and performance prediction, thereby shortening development time. The domestically produced aviation tires with a fully controllable chain have moved out of the laboratory, and the Flight Take-off and Landing Dynamics Large Facility can inspect the performance and reliability of aviation tires.

Huangpu has already gathered over 1,000 research institutions, leading the nation to concentrate on new research and development institutions and innovation capabilities.
