On March 26, GAC Honda's new energy factory in Huangpu district was completed, and the first pure electric SUV P7 rolled off the production line.
This super factory, integrating digitalization, decarbonization, and quality, signifies GAC Honda's leap from conventional fuel vehicles to the era of new energy. With a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan ($481.95 million) and an annual production capacity of 120,000 vehicles, the factory has become a key pillar for the high-end transformation of the automotive industry in Huangpu district.

The factory is restructuring the automotive industry value chain with disruptive technologies. End-to-end data connectivity and intelligent, efficient, and flexible production are achieved through deep integration of digitalization and intelligent technology.
Simultaneously, the factory aims for ultimate greenness and zero carbon emissions, achieving zero carbon emissions upon production, thus redefining industry standards for green intelligent manufacturing.

Leveraging the new factory's intelligent manufacturing system, GAC Honda's P7 redefines electric driving pleasure through the eight major functional values. With 68 percent high-strength steel in the body, batteries exceeding national standards in safety, and hardcore indicators like extreme testing of 1.5 million kilometers, it showcases the company's deep understanding of user value.
In 2024, the automotive industry in Huangpu generated an output value of 125.8 billion yuan, accounting for approximately 15.2 percent of the total industrial output value in the region. The automotive sector in Huangpu is accelerating towards a smarter, greener, and more efficient future.
