The first day is about to kick off with the performance of the "Offering Sea Sacrifices and Praying for Blessings" ceremony, reenacting the solemn ancient sea worship scene. The two major core ceremonies on March 12, the birthday of Nanhai God, will climax the temple fair.
Throughout the event, there will be a variety of spectacular performances. On the Tongxin Lake, actors in classical costumes dance on boats; on land, Cantonese opera and Hakka mountain songs take turns to perform; activities like the Zhangqiu Book Club and the Greater Bay Area Chinese music exhibition add to the cultural atmosphere.
Visitors to the temple fair will naturally enjoy bustling markets and delicious food. Fragrant Cantonese snacks fill the air, and citizens and tourists can also receive limited-edition postcards to write blessings and send them afar.
