Huangpu unveils Yingge Dance feast

From Feb 9 to 16, Luogang Aoyuan Square is hosting the "Cultural Celebration for All - Intangible Cultural Heritage Chinese New Year Festivities" event, inviting citizens to celebrate the Lantern Festival together.

The event features various activities, including traditional lantern exhibitions, modern light installations, and various cultural performances such as pop music, traditional Chinese opera, acrobatics, and magic shows.

Of special note is the not-to-be-missed Chaoshan Yingge Dance, where dancers dressed in ancient costumes and wielding short wooden sticks perform rhythmic dances to the sound of Chaozhou big drums. This dance showcases the vibrant vitality and confidence of the Chinese nation.

There is also a hanfu experience area for citizens to enjoy. On the day of the Lantern Festival, there will be free tangyuan (sweet rice balls) for citizens to taste and lantern riddle guessing activities.

Visitors can also enjoy a variety of specialty foods and snacks from all over the country to satisfy their taste buds. Additionally, the square features a parent-child amusement area with inflatable castles, children's karting, trampolines, carousels, and other entertainment options.

The highlight of the event is the Lantern Festival night tour, featuring five major themed exhibition areas with a mix of traditional lanterns and modern artistic light displays. This allows citizens to experience traditional customs and flavors in a festive and lively atmosphere.
