Construction on Guangzhou hospital reaches new heights

Construction on the Guangzhou Gaobo Research Hospital and Medical Industry Transformation Platform, located in Huangpu district, has reached new heights.

Foundation piling work for the complex building has now been fully completed, while construction on the main structure is progressing smoothly, with 47 percent of the above-ground main structure completed. The first six or seven floors of the 12-story main building and the first four floors of the five-floor auxiliary building have also been completed.

The Gaobo hospital is located in the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, covering an area of approximately 40,000 square meters. It is positioned as a research-oriented tertiary general hospital with a planned capacity of 550 beds, 80 percent of which will be used for clinical trials of innovative drugs and medical devices from both domestic and international sources.

The main entrance to the hospital faces the street, adopting a three-dimensional landscape system to create a green interactive space. The hospital closely integrates medicine and research, providing independent spaces for scientific innovation, academic exchange, and daily hospital activities.

The hospital focuses on clinical research and is capable of undertaking global multi-center clinical trials. It will introduce key specialties such as solid tumors, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, neuroscience, rare diseases, and critical care medicine.

The hospital will further enhance the innovation chain of the district's pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, accelerating the process of transforming pharmaceutical research and development achievements into practical applications.
