Competition in Huangpu focuses on development of disruptive technologies

On June 16, the National Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition and the Guangzhou Disruptive Technology Innovation Promotion Event were held in Huangpu district, Guangzhou.

The National Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition adopts a "self-organized + league" model to assist winning projects in connecting with venture capital funds and commercial banks, accelerating the commercialization of achievements.

During the event, the Guangzhou Disruptive Technology Innovation Alliance was established, integrating the advantageous resources of Guangzhou to jointly promote the development of disruptive technology, commercialization of innovation achievements, and industrial cooperation.

Guangzhou is accelerating the development of an innovation system, disruptive technology innovation centers, funds, and innovation parks for disruptive technology. Guangzhou has had four projects selected for the 2023 National Key Special Project for Disruptive Technology Innovation, ranking second nationwide, just behind Beijing.

The Guangzhou Disruptive Technology Innovation Center has implemented 46 projects, with international projects accounting for nearly 50 percent of the total. There have been 25 achievements commercialized, 22 companies established, and eight companies already established in Huangpu, two of which have an output value exceeding 1 billion yuan ($137.83 million).

One of the companies established in Huangpu in 2019 specializes in the production of a "Live Cell Long-Term Autonomous Decision-Making Super-Resolution Microscope" scientific instrument, with globally leading technology and enormous future development prospects.

The Huangpu Innovation Institute was also unveiled, aiming to cultivate high-end innovative talent and promote the integration of innovation and talent chains.
