Commemorate 100th anniversary of Whampoa Military Academy

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Whampoa Military Academy. On June 12, a tracing and check-in activity was launched in the former site of the Whampoa Military Academy on Changzhou Island in Huangpu district of Guangzhou.

The event is not just a commemoration of history but a call to action. It is an opportunity for Chinese descendants at home and abroad to carry on the legacy, to be the torchbearers of the spirit of the Whampoa Military Academy in the new era.

The tracing and check-in route spans 3 kilometers, passing through significant locations such as the Whampoa Military Academy Memorial Hall, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Room, and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Monument, allowing participants to deeply experience the revolutionary spirit and patriotic sentiments of their predecessors.

During the event, participants lauded the improved environment and the preservation of red cultural inheritance on Changzhou Island. Huangpu has enhanced transportation, urban aesthetics, and municipal facilities, improving the city's quality and optimizing the red tourism route.

The Whampoa Military Academy Memorial Hall has also undergone renovations and exhibitions, greatly enhancing the visitor experience.

Through this activity, participants were not just spectators but active participants in the glorious history of the Whampoa Military Academy over the past century. They felt the spirit of the academy, they inherited its values, and they reaffirmed their responsibility to carry on the spirit of patriotism and revolution.
