Sino-Singapore Science City in Guangzhou attracts Singaporean enterprises with funding support

In a strategic move to foster innovation and cooperation, Sino-Singapore Science City in Huangpu district, Guangzhou, developed jointly by China and Singapore, unveiled a groundbreaking agreement aimed at supporting Singaporean enterprises. The "China-Singapore Science and Technology Innovation and High-Quality Industrial Cooperation Agreement" pledges over 60 million yuan (approximately $9.4 million) in specialized funding over the next three years from 2025 to 2028.

During a recent promotional event held in Singapore, eight prominent Singaporean enterprises, including Xinyao Private Co Limited and Heng Sheng Surveying Technology Private Co Limited, committed to establishing operations within Science City. This move underscores the city's appeal as a prime destination for international businesses seeking to enter the Chinese market.

The policy's key provisions focus on advancing sectors such as technological innovation, digital economy, biomedicine, financial services, and green development. Eligible enterprises stand to benefit from incentives including settlement rewards, rent subsidies, research and development grants, talent acquisition support, and funding for international business events.

The launch of the Science City's innovative platform, known as Launchpad, further underscores its commitment to facilitating seamless market entry for international enterprises, particularly those from Singapore. This integrated platform streamlines administrative processes and offers comprehensive services tailored to the needs of incoming businesses.

Zhang Delong, the vice president of Sino-Singapore Science City Investment and Development Co Ltd, emphasized the city's pivotal role as a bridge for China-Singapore cooperation. He affirmed the company's dedication to providing exceptional services and support to Singaporean enterprises exploring opportunities within the Science City.
