The construction of two major transportation projects passing through Huangpu district, including the Xin-Bai-Guang Intercity and the Conghua-Huangpu Expressway, has recently seen new progress.
Recently, Xin-Bai-Guang Intercity's electrical substations were powered, having the conditions for power transmission for the catenary and power transmission lines of the whole line. This has laid a solid foundation for achieving the goal of completing the project within the year.
Located in the northeast of Guangzhou, the Xin-Bai-Guang Intercity starts from Xintang South Railway Station and passes through Baiyun Airport to Guangzhou North Railway Station. The main line of the project is about 78 kilometers long, with 13 stations. It is a shortcut from China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to Baiyun Airport, Qingyuan, Shenzhen and the southeast of the Pearl River Delta.
As of now, 96 percent of the civil engineering work and about 70 percent of the road surface work have been completed for the first phase of the Conghua-Huangpu Expressway. The main project is expected to be completed by the end of June, and the project is planned to open to traffic within this year.
The Conghua-Huangpu Expressway is a key construction project for Guangdong's 14th Five Year Plan period (2021-25), and is an important part of the northern traffic trunk line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The total length of this route is 61.8 km, with six lanes in both directions and a speed of 100 km per hour.
It not only connects the southern, central and northern areas of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, but also connects to Changlingju Science City, Huangpu Linggang Economic Zone and other important areas.
